The name Gowa is no stranger to national history because of its maritime empire that had a big influence on the waters of the
archipelago. In addition, famous names such as Sultan Hassanudin, known as an a brave player who dared to fight the Dutch VOC, came from Enrekang. The biggest legacy of Gowa Regency, namely Makassar port, which eventually became the city of Makassar,
can now be called the biological child of Gowa.
As a place of tourism, Gowa Regency has a parang loe waterfall which is arguably one of the most beautiful natural attractions in South Sulawesi because it has diverse characteristics with beautiful stone structures.
Because the location is very close to the city of Makassar, there are many tourist attractions for tourists who are traveling to the Makassar area and its surroundings. One of them is Gowa discovery park that combines water tourism and bird parks. In the waterboom or water rides it can be fun playing water and in the bird park it can interact and photograph photos with various kinds of birds from various regions.
